Nemateleotris magnifica - Fire Sword Goby
Fire sword gobies (Nemateleotris magnifica) are a real eye-catcher, especially because of their bright red coloring, and are a popular fish in marine aquariums. They grow to a size of 7 to 9 cm and are therefore also suitable for smaller tanks ( from 200 liters ).
In general, gobies are very shy and easily frightened , which is why sufficient hiding places in the aquarium are essential. For the same reason, you should avoid keeping fire sword gobies with very lively, dominant animals. The water temperature should be between 22 and 27°C .
Fire sword gobies behave peacefully towards other saltwater fish, but rivalry can arise between members of their own species. For this reason, keeping them in groups is not recommended. Keeping them alone is the safest option, although keeping them in pairs can also work.
Nemateleotris magnifica eat both frozen and live food (e.g. Artemia, Cyclops, lobster eggs, mosquito larvae, Mysis), as well as flake and granulated food .The most important things about fire sword gobies at a glance:
