CLIBANARIUS TRICOLOR - BLUE-LEGGED HERMIT CRAB
Blue-legged hermit crabs (Clibanarius tricolor) are ideal for nano aquariums ( from 10 liters ) due to their extremely small size (body size up to max. 2 cm ). Even beginners can keep the crab without any problems because it is very easy to care for and peaceful .
Because they are excellent algae eaters , Clibanarius tricolor kill algae growth on sand and stones. Hermit crabs also eat leftover food and dead animals that could pollute the water.
The blue-legged hermit crabs can be introduced into the aquarium at the beginning of the green algae phase, i.e. around two weeks after starting the tank. Since the crab spends a lot of time in snail shells , there should be enough of them available - it doesn't matter whether they come from water or land snails.
